Meet Avah!  Avah is 15 years old and has been dancing for the past 11 years.  Avah completes her dance training at the Elite Academy of Dance where she is a member of the pre professional competition team as well as the company team.  Avah’s favorite style of dance is contemporary.  When we asked Avah what she loves most about dance, she told us that she loves how she is able to express herself through the music and movement.  She loves being able to tell a story and create art with her body.  Dance makes Avah feel alive because it allows her to communicate how she is feeling.

 

Avah’s favorite part of an Alive event is The Showdown!  She loves being able to improv up on stage with other dancers who share the same passion.  Avah is looking forward to learning new choreography and contemporary techniques from different artists and teachers at the next event.  She is also looking forward to assisting classes!

 

Fun fact - Avah is currently in high school and is already planning to attend college and hopefully obtain a BFA in Dance!  She wants to become a choreographer and teach dance.  She also loves to write and hopes to become a writer as well!
