Katharine, or Kat, is 13 years old and has been dancing for the past 8 years!  She belongs to Elite Academy of Dance.  Kat has been dancing since she was 4 years old and began dancing competitively 4 years ago.  Her favorite style of dance is definitely jazz, but she tends to do well and win scholarships in contemporary at conventions!  When we asked Kat what she loves most about dance, she told us that she loves how dance gives her the opportunity to connect with other people, whether it is the audience or friends she makes along the way.  Dance makes Kat feel alive because it gives her joy and adrenaline, especially when she is on stage and can feel the audience’s energy!  

 

Kat’s favorite part of Alive Dance Tours was meeting up with old friends from other dance studios and challenging herself with new choreography.  Kat can’t wait for future Alive Dance Tours events so that she can assist in the classes!  She loves to help other dancers.

 

Fun fact about Kat, she is constantly trying to push herself in dance!  She knows that this is just the start of her life with danCe and she’s excited to see how far she can push herself each year.
